Wotton Area Mutual Aid
Wotton Area Mutual Aid (WAMA) is a network of local volunteers set up to provide mutual aid during the Covid-19 outbreak in the Wotton area. From 1st August, in line with the Government guidelines for those shielding, and with the easing of lockdown, WAMA will be pausing most of its activities. If the situation changes, we will be able to resume services quickly.
I need some help
As lockdown eased there has been a decline in the number of people seeking help from WAMA. With effect from 1st August our ‘request for support’ form and spreadsheet will be suspended. Information about other organisations offering ongoing services can be found on our useful links page. If you cannot find what you are looking for, and are still struggling to find support,
please call WAMA on 07545 042794.
I need help getting prescriptions
As of 1st August, we will no longer be operating a prescription collection, and delivery, service. For those living in Wotton, Lloyds Chemist have a delivery service – call 01453 843171 to register. For those over 65 years old, both The Chipping and Culverhay dispensaries deliver to the village shops at
Hawkesbury and Kingswood on a Tuesday, Cromhall, Charfield and Wickwar on a Wednesday, and North Nibley on a Thursday. Call the Surgeries to register for this service. The Chipping (01453 842214) and Culverhay (01453 843893).
I'd like to volunteer
We have an amazing list of volunteers but understand that circumstances change as lockdown eases and more people
return to work. If you are no longer able to volunteer, please let us know. Whilst we will be suspending the ‘request for
support’ spreadsheet on 1st August, we will still contact volunteers individually if we receive a request from a neighbour.
WAMA is also able to offer a free box of essential groceries to anyone who needs them.
WAMA is able to deliver a free box of essential groceries to anyone who is finding it hard to make ends meet at this difficult time. There's no need for a referral. Just request a box and our WAMA volunteers will be in touch.

Areas we cover
Wotton Area Mutual Aid (WAMA) was set up to cover Wotton-under-Edge and its surrounding villages, based on the areas supported by the two GP surgeries in the town.
Some villages have their own support groups but WAMA does respond to all requests that come directly to us.
Areas covered are indicated within the map alongside this and include: Wotton, Charfield, Wickwar, Hillesley, Hawkesbury, Cromhall, Tortworth, Tresham, North Nibley, Ozleworth, Bowcott, Whiteway and Stancombe.
